Should I take private or group classes?
Our group classes are designed to compliment your private lesson program. In fact, we use a unique three element system of learning to ensure the quickest and most efficient results. Private Lessons are all about you, they're the fastest way to learn and progress while receiving personalized individual attention, all while having the freedom to schedule to what best fits your lifestyle. Group Classes offer a fun and social way to practice, alongside the invaluable element of learning to lead/follow with a variety of partners, or picking up new patterns and dances that you can then perfect in your private lessons. Practice Parties provide an ideal setting for well, practicing... in a social setting, perfecting your newly learned moves, meeting new people, and simply having fun.
Do I need a partner?
A partner is unnecessary for our private, group, or practice parties. In your private lessons, your instructor will dance with you as your partner, in fact, you will learn even quicker this way! In group classes as well as parties, we encourage you to dance with various partners throughout. (of course, if you come with a partner you always have the option to stay with your partner or rotate )
Do I need previous dance experience?
90% of our students have never set foot in a dance studio before. You will be paired with one of our highly trained beginner specialist that will have you comfortable on the dance floor in no time.
How often do I need to come in?
We highly recommend that you schedule your lessons close together, especially in the beginning. The less time between lessons means the less you will forget, the less you will need to review, and the more quickly you will learn and reach a confident level in your dancing. In addition, it is most effective for you to take private lessons in conjunction with group and practice sessions.
What is the age range of your students?
We have students in a variety of age ranges. Our primary focus however, is adult students, but we do offer children's classes as well.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that won’t inhibit movement. Some of our students come straight from work and others come for their lessons dressed casual. Of course, comfortable shoes are recommended! We suggest a pair of leather-soled shoes for gentlemen and a shoe with a back for the ladies similar to what you would wear to go out dancing.
What kind of dances do you teach?
We offer social and competitive instruction in all Ballroom, Latin, and Swing dances. This includes both American and International Styles, "social or club" Latin such as Salsa, Bachata, Merengue. As well as the many styles of swing, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy and more. Basically we offer instruction in dances that require a partner.
